Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet !!!

Finally the tease is over! Nissan had unveiled its world first cabriolet SUV, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. Designed to give you the lifestyle of a top-down sports car with wind blowing over your head while having the command on the road like a SUV.

Many people are debating whether its the right choice to make such kind of a crossover. SUV + cabriolet might not be everyone taste. People are worried that the final result will look disastrous or awkward. Even the design of the Nissan Murano in SUV form does not appeal to everyone! But frankly I have to say that Nissan had done a great job in making the Murano CrossCabriolet a looker! It appealed more to me than the CrossCoupe BMW X6!

The front end typically lifted from the current Murano SUV, but everything is new from A-pillar to the back. Like I mentioned in my previos post, the taillights has cues of 370Z's and it fitted quite nicely on the rear. Nissan haven't show us the picture of the Murano CrossCabriolet with its top up yet, but I guess it will look like Mini Cooper cabriolet's roof :)

The dashboard is again lifted from the Murano SUV (it's a good move considering it has top-notch materials and upmarket design) and thickly padded leather seats. There are 2 air-cond outlets for the rear occupants and we can see there's adequate space for 2 adults to travel comfortably in the back seats.

A nice touch of putting cupholder in the middle of the rear seats, it can be a 4 seaters car or pinch in another one person for short trip. It's better than the 4 seaters BMW X6 with a huge, non-removable plastic storage space at the center of the back seat. Dual pop-up roll bar are attached to the rear seats' headrests.

Its aerodynamics are slightly higher than its SUV variant - 0.39Cd VS. 0.37Cd. The tall windshield, A-pillar, beltline and rear seat shoulders minimise air turbulence when the top is down. With top down, there is still space to put your weekend luggage for your trip to the countryside.

To me, the Murano CrossCabriolet is like a dream come true since I love SUV and can have the feel of a cabriolet at the same time!
