Proton APRC 2010

Proton Inspira has been the talk of town since its launch. However, not many people realize or come to know about Proton recent great achievement in Motorsports. Proton had a one-two finish at the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) last weekend by Alister McRae and Chris Atkinson. Proton’s celebration has gone bigger with the winning of McRae by earning the Scottish driver third placing in the APRC Driver’s Championship.

This is not Proton’s first victory in motorsports by the way. Proton has won the APRC title three times in 2001, 2002 and 2004. Proton also won the FIA Production Car World Rally Championship on its debut in 2002.

This victory shows Proton’s competitiveness in manufacturer in the international rally arena, where it is pitted against established manufacturers like Subaru and Mitsubishi. Motorsports is one of the best foundations to promote Proton as an established global brand.

With Proton’s latest success in motorsports, Proton is on the right track for the upcoming season. This proved that Proton’s challenger spirit paved itself a pathway to victory and is now on par with the leaders such as Mitsubishi in motorsports. Kudos and I wish Proton to have more success in the future!
