Volvo S60 from RM288k-RM348K !!!

The sexy, naughty Scandanavian beast - Volvo S60 is finally available in Malaysia in two variants - 2.0 T5 selling at RM288K while 3.0 T6 all wheel drive selling at RM348K. Available in 15 choice of colours and sexy styling, it will make sure onlookers has their eyes glued to it when it passes by.

Volvo, being the 'leader' in automotive safety, has proved that safety doesn't come at the cost of style. The latest product in Volvo's 'catalog' promises style, performance and safety altogether in a same package. The S60 has sloping roofline like a Passat CC, but doesn't compromise interior headroom compared to the latter. Its front end bears some resemblances with XC60 and other recent products produced by Volvo, while the rear end is also unmistakeably a Volvo, but both with a whole lot of sexiness.

Plush and high quality materials are used for the S60's interior, while you'll never run out of style with its sophisticated looking dashboard design. Chromes are also added at the right place to give a tad of classiness in the midst of dark, premium ambience.

Under the bonnet, the T5's engine (T means turbocharged), which is a 2.0litre engine which produces 240bhp and, mated with a six-speed Powershift gearbox. You can get from 0-100km/h in 7.5 seconds in the T5. The more powerful T6 is powered by a 3.0litre engine which has 304bhp coupled with a six-speed automatic Geartronic transmission, is capable of going from 0-100km/h in 6.5 seconds!

Don't expect a Volvo to handle like a Porsche, but S60 isn't that bad either. T5 gets dynamic chassis as standard, but T6 comes with Four-C (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept) which is a self-adjusting chassis with Comfort, Sport and Advance mode.

There are tons of acronyms used for Volvo safety features and as a product from Volvo, the S60 wouldn't be lacking of any as well. Volvo and safety is like a shark and remora, a lightbulb with electricity - something that any Volvo wouldn't be lacking of. T5 and T6 both have features such as Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) with Advanced Stability Control and Traction Torque Vectoring, Pedestrian Detection that works together with City Safety that works up to 35km/h.

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Collision Warning with Auto Brake (CWAB), Driver Alert Control (DAC) which detects and alerts sleepy and distracted drivers and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Queue Assist are also available as standard for both variants. T6, however, will get extra features like Lane Departure Warning that warns the driver that he/she crosses his lane without switching on the indicator. A class-D digital 5x130W amplifier, Dolby Digital in combination with Dolby Pro Logic II Surround, MultEQ from Audyssey Laboratories and 12 speakers is also only available for T6.

The Volvo S60 is indeed a great package with its generous list of equipment and reasonable pricing. A worthy contender of BMW 3-Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class is here!

Make Me a Belieber, Tune Talk!

Santa Claus Justin Bieber is coming to town! I believe all of the Beliebers out there know that his concert will be on 21st of April 2011 (8.30pm) in Stadium Merdeka, right? This concert is sponsored by Tune Talk (Tune Talk Facebook Page).

Below are the Top 3 things that I will do to prove that I'm a true Belieber:

#1 Watch his new movie 'Never Say Never'!
I watched it on 2nd of April courtesy of Gliterrati+ :) Never Say Never to this movie. Here is my review on the movie.

#2 Sing 'Baby' in public!
"Baby, baby, baby, ohhhhh..." Yeah I just sang it. You can trust me XD

#3 Have a 'Justin Bieber' style!
Imagine me in Justin Bieber's attire and cut the Justin Bieber signature hairstyle.
Hard to imagine?
Let me help you...

OK, I admit I'm still a beginner in photoshop! I changed the colour into sepia because my skin colour and JB's is different LOL

If you wish to get free passes to Justin Bieber's concert, visit Nuffnang's page for more info! Wish me luck!

Of Audi and... Facial?

Audi R8 safety car on the left and ABT-tuned R8 on the right were on displayed in Pavilion last Saturday. Dream car for some huh? I was invited to drive the R8 but I turned the offer down because I told them I have one in my house... *day dreaming*

If I have to say which car manufacturer produces the best looking headlamps? Without hesitation I will say Audi. Incorporated the LED daytime driving light, it makes sure your ride won't be lacking of style!

Audi A4!

Audi A1! *I have a feeling that it's coming to Malaysia soon!*

Actually I was with JFook in Starhill Gallery last Saturday for our facial treatment *Two guys going together for a facial session sounds so wrong!!!*We actually bought a deal from Hahah which comprises of Intensive Detoxifying Facial + Eye Treatment + Neck & Scalp Massage + Hot Stone Shoulder Massage @ IPL Skin Care Clinique, Starhill Gallery. Only RM59 Instead of RM255 for this 90 minute session, 77% off!

Our appointment was set at 1pm and a woman (I think she's the manager of IPL) asked us do we want the couple room or separate room? LOL *of course separate room* So when I was in the room, a lady asked me to remove my shirt O_O and lie on the bed. Although I've been to this kind of facial session before, I was still wondering some stupid question like "Should I lie down on the mattress with my back or face up" or "Should I place my head on the bolster or the other way". To my surprise, I have to place my leg on the bolster !_!

The session started off by applying some cleasing and scrubbing cream... Very relaxing until the extraction part came! The lady pinched and pinched my face like there's no tomorrow to extract some dirty stuff and black heads from my skin! *But I put on my brave front and acted manly through out the whole process LOL*

According to... erm... a Chinese idiom, first bitter later sweet *hope you get what I mean*. The best part was at the back where the lady used hot stones to massage my shoulder and upper chest part. A new enjoying experience!

Finally, a picture of me after the facial session:

My skin is smoother and slightly brighter now. Actually I have more acne scars than what you can see from above, but one facial session can't heal a flawed face completely, right?

If you had read JFook's blog post, readers of my blog can also enjoy the same facial session as mine at RM59 instead of RM255 just by mentioning my name "Har Tuck Chien" while booking!!!

FILM: Justin Bieber's 'Never Say Never' review!

"Ahhh.... Justin Bieber! I love his hair, his eyes, he's cute!" "I'm gonna marry him!" Ahem. That were actually quotes from Justin Bieber's fans, not me. Mind you.

Look what the 17 years old Canadian-born singer can do to millions of fans! They were shouting and crying like there's no tomorrow ~.~

Of course, the 'Bieber fever'. Do you have it? (I'm not asking you about the shirt. If you do, throw it away like... immediately!)

*Spoiler alert!*
Now, Justin Bieber has a movie about his life from the start to stardom. 'Never Say Never' showcases how he was discovered in Youtube and how Usher bring him to fame! Featuring stars like Miley Cyrus, Jaden Smith and Sean Kingston. However, some are wondering is it too early for him to have a movie? Even Michael Jackson has a movie only after his death!

Thanks Nuffnang and Tune Talk for the premiere screening tickets by the way :)

The movie also shows how's Justin Bieber's life as a singer and how hard he has to work to perform his best in concert. It's sad to see that he don't have a normal life like other boys of his age though. He also performed few songs in the movie too!

Many hillarious scenes were added into the movie so that it won't so boring to watch. There were fans screaming their eyes off, funny quotes from the fans, but to me the best part was watching Justin Bieber flipping his hair! They even put the flipping part in slow motion! Epic!

To girls, if you want to see some Justin Bieber topless scenes, there were few actually! Go watch it when it's on the screen on 14th of April 2011 in Malaysia!

Nokia N8 review !!!

Today marks the 2 months anniversary of me owning an orange coloured Nokia N8! Changing from an buttons cellphone to a no-buttons full touchscreen smartphone is a huge leap for me. Luckily, I manage to 'go with the flow' and mastered it ^_^

Back to the topic! Nokia N8, powered by Symbian^3, is not a smartphone that you can ignore. It is the flagship of Nokia with an industry leading camera features and other innovations such as HDMI and USB-On-the-Go. Its sleek anodized aluminum unibody is cold to the first touch, and the built is solid enough to give users a feeling of confidence in using it.

From left, the camera button, lock screen pull button and volume button. The lock screen pull button and camera button are a bit hard to use though. Can you see my Form 1 photo at the back? Hehe!

The main focus of N8 - camera! It has 12 megapixels autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss lens, together with the largest camera sensor found in a cellphone! Below are the details of the camera:

Camera Resolution 4000 x 3000
CMOS Sensor 12.0 Megapixel
Camera Digital Zoom 2 x
Camera Focal length 28 mm
Camera F-Stop/Aperture f/2.8
Camera Focus range 10 cm to infinity
Camera Image Formats JPEG/Exif
Camera Features Auto Exposure, Auto Focus, Carl Zeiss Optics, Exposure Compensation,
Full Screen Viewfinder, Geotagging, Red-Eye Reduction, Self Timer, Xenon Flash
Video Recording Resolution 1280 x 720
Video Recording Frame Rate 25 fps
Video Digital Zoom 3 x
Video Recording Formats H.263[1], H.264/AVC[2], MPEG-4

Secondary Camera Resolution 640 x 480

Secondary Camera Focus range 20 cm to infinity
Secondary Camera Image Formats JPEG
Secondary Camera Video Recording Resolution 176 x 144
Secondary Camera Video Recording Frame Rate 15 fps
Secondary Camera Video Recording Format H.263

Check out one of the videos that I had recorded using N8:

HDMI outlet for TV to play your recorded videos or other medias :)

3.5" 16M-color AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 640 x 360 pixel resolution works great under the sun and in other conditions.

One major problem of Nokia N8 - lag. Sometimes it not only lags, it hangs! To make the matter worse, the N8's battery is non-removable (meaning it's built in to the body of the cellphone!). Thus, you can only solve the problem by hard reset (which is by pressing volume-down, camera, menu and power button at the same time).

Something cool about the charger! Retractable Earth!

Here are some of my finest creations using N8's camera:

One of my colleagues saw this photo and she asked me to take her photo for her wedding! LOL

Classic feel using black and white setting...

OK, this is exaggerating XD

The Nokia N8 is no doubt one of Nokia's best phone that they had ever produced. It is priced reasonably for a smartphone (RRP RM1690), compared to its slightly overpriced sibling, the E7 (RRP RM1995). However, its most serious drawback is the lag-ness of the machine as commented by dozens of N8 users. The N8 will be (almost) flawless if this problem is solved by Nokia :)

*** *** ***

The crop formation above was discovered somewhere near Sitiawan by the owner of the paddy field. It has a design similar to a biohazard sign. Is it created by ALIEN? Or just another prank done by HUMAN? Is it a sign of apocalypse??? But it's not 2012 yet!!! This mysterious symbol has appeared all over the country without reasons or evidences of who created these symbols!

The symbol is certainly not something poisonous, or should we call it a good 'poison'! This is because everyone who saw the symbol in person felt happy and have a hunch that something good is coming!

Check out one of the sightings recorded while on an airplane:

WE'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE...
