Nissan Sylphy which is in selling our market is due for replacement soon. Nissan has unveiled the 2013 Nissan Altima, which will be the base model for replacement of Sylphy. Thus, Nissan has also revealed the 2013 Nissan Sylphy 'Concept', which we can be sure that the 'concept' car is totally production ready by one look.
Both the 2013 Altima and 2013 Sylphy share some common design, but overall we can see that the Altima (left) received a sportier outlook while the Sylphy (right) is more on the conservative but upscale side. The 2013 Sylphy definitely has some resemblance of the Nissan Teana, which is a good thing!
The styling theme continues to the rear of both counterparts. However, I prefer the Altima's styling more than Sylphy's because the Altima has cleaner and sharper lines which flows from the side profile into the taillights.
The outgoing Sylphy has a plush and comfy cabin, and we can expect the same (or even better) quality for the 2013 Sylphy. Eventhough the outgoing Sylphy has one of the largest cabin in its segment, the cabin space will definitely grow for the 2013 Sylphy. Here's a comparison of 2013 Altima and Sylphy Concept's cabin:
No details has been released yet by Nissan on the 2013 Sylphy, but it revealed that the Sylphy will be using a 1.8litre engine with next generation XTRONIC CVT gearbox. This will certainly provide a silky smooth journey in the 2013 Sylphy, even smoother than the fluidic outgoing Sylphy.
