Is it a notepad? Is it a Galaxy Note? No, it's a Nissan Note! For anyone who doesn't know anything about Nissan Note, it was actually based on the Nissan X-Gear but without its added ground clearance and plastic bodywork add-ons. Now, Nissan unveiled the 2nd generation Nissan Note and hopefully this time around it will be available in Malaysia in the future.
It's good to see that Nissan retained most of the styling cues of its stylish Nissan Invitation Concept. The B-segment Note has a sporty styling, definitely a looker compared to its predecessor. One of the most eye-catching detail must be the 'Squash Line' on the doors, which flows down gradually from the taillights and suddenly changes its path back to the rear. Sharp! Not to mention the uniquely-styled taillights make the rear end of the Note not so boring to be looked at too!
Interior wise, the Note's cabin has hints of Nissan March and well, every other Nissan. Nothing to shout about, and the dreadful shiny plastic of the centre console has to go. Expect it to gain more cabin space compared to current Note or X-Gear. For the first time in Nissan's B-segment vehicle, the Note will get Around View Monitor, which shows a simulated overhead view of surrounding parking spaces and Safety Shield Technologies, which monitors the car’s surroundings to help avoid accidents.
Two engines are being offered in Japan, a 1.2litre engine with 79bhp and 108Nm of torque and a new 1.2litre supercharged engine with 97bhp and 142Nm of torque.
