I'm sure drivers in Malaysia are aware that the Road Transport Department (JPJ) has started using the Automated Enforcement System (AES) to catch traffic offenders. Now, JPJ has revealed the PRECISE location of the AES cameras, so precise that JPJ even listed out the GPS coordinate for each location so that you can pin-point them on a map! Try putting in the coordinate into Google Map and the exact location will be revealed!
Although this is still the pilot stage of the AES, it has started its operation in areas such as KL, Selangor, Putrajaya and Perak. The locations chosen are identified as 'block spot', therefore JPJ is hoping that the AES will reduce the number of accidents at all the locations below:
As you can see, there are some mobile cameras which will only be operating at certain time, and there are few cameras located at junctions to record those who ignore red lights. AES will be having phase 2 in the future, where more cameras will be installed at various locations. But for right now, let's pay attention to these locations, shall we? It will not only make the road a safer place, but will also determine whether you'll be dining in Victoria Station or cooking steak at home in the end of the month.
